Richard Rivette

Richard Rivette

Richard is the North Carolina State Senate candidate for District 38 comprising the West side of Mecklenburg County, north area below Huntersville but above Uptown, and the University area of the city. His desire is to bring more viable companies to North Carolina, increase job opportunities, job training, and expand school choice by fully funding all education venues.

We've got a plan to create jobs, support small business, make Charlotte a safer place to live, and restore the basic civil rights that we are guaranteed under the law. We want to ensure that Charlotte is the city which we will be proud of ten years from now without the current wave of corruption destroying confidence in our officials.

In order to win, we will need your support at every step of the way. If you're excited about seeing a fresh face in politics, donate today. While the best things in life are free, winning a political campaign isn't. We can't push for the types of reforms that our district badly needs in order to create jobs without winning a senate seat first. greet events.

Every little bit that you can spare helps to an individual with the much-needed pro-Charlotte campaign.

Richard Rivette proved he can work on a very small budget in the 2012 and 2014 elections. He gathered almost 20% of the vote yet was outspent 30-to-1! With a boost from you he can make every dollar count, just as he will when he is in office. He knows every tax dollar is your money, and should be treated with respect.

If Richard Rivette is elected, you will start to see the positive effects of his growth and jobs oriented policies in your own backyard. More can be done at the state level than the national level to do those things which will benefit local residents.

The best part about donating to our campaign is that it will help elect someone who cares about your needs. We're more than happy to listen to your concerns, so be sure to help Richard Rivette emerge from the campaign victoriously. Donate today for a brighter future tomorrow. Now, Let’s Get To Work!

Most North Carolinians are hard-working and responsible people. They pay their taxes on time, show up at work each day, and don't have anything to hide.  However, the Constitution of the United States was written as a restraint on government. Strict privacy laws were developed to ensure that our most private affairs remained so, and that citizens of the United States could trust their government. Unfortunately, we have seen how the FBI, NSA, IRS and other agencies sworn to work for us, have now been used as tools against citizens who did nothing wrong.

As many Americans have discovered, the federal government has abused it's authority by wiretapping US citizens and creating laws which circumvent due process. The US government simply is not allowed to intervene in the affairs of private citizens if it does not have the permission to do so.

Richard Rivette has had enough, and he plans to send a message to the federal government that it's intrusiveness is no longer allowed.

In doing so, he will take the following actions:

  • Follow the example of Maryland and forbid the NSA and federal government from using state resources to spy on NC citizens. This will keep the NSA from establishing a foothold in Charlotte or anywhere in NC and keep them from using utilities, public and private records, communication networks or any other resources.
  • Have any federal agent whom acts outside of NC and US constitutional authority arrested and tried in NC's court system.
  • Lead a full investigation into the actions of the NSA and the federal government within the state of NC and prosecute any individuals whom are guilty of illegally spying on NC citizens.

Under NC's constitution, the federal government does not have the right to gather information without a search warrant.  It's time that we enforce our laws, and encourage other states to do the same before it's too late.

Vote for the PROjobs candidate. Richard Rivette has a history of creating JOBs with new and existing companies. By concentrating on the redevelopment of our district (the west and north light industrial areas of Mecklenburg county), the state tax code and the education system, including both public schools and higher ed, we can build what we need to succeed and lift many of our families out of this recession.

As the PROcharlotte candidate Richard Rivette will propose citizen committees to help us plan extensive new development of the Charlotte metro region, but especially focus on his district, which is still greatly affected by the last recession, unemployment, hour reductions and the departure of decent wage jobs. "Our focus must be on attracting new ventures and employing our local Charlotte neighbors." We must aggressively seek opportunities like the Toyota manufacturing facilities we lost to other states because our current Senator is too busy to be bothered promoting this region.

"We MUST target the TWO top priorities for companies looking to grow in North Carolina, so they can create MORE jobs."

While government doesn't create jobs, it can lay the foundation for the firms that do. We need to continue to reduce the complexity and burden of our entire tax structure, which is why Richard Rivette supports the FAIR TAX or a much simpler alternative to our entire tax code. And we MUST improve schools and job training opportunities.

With his advice, learn how we can accomplish our goals for Charlotte and North Carolina!
